We have linked a reputable brand of Hair Glue below. After you have measured and cut the wefts to size the hair is then neatly divided into horizontal sections. A thin layer of glue is then applied to the track on the weft and along the top of the section of your natural hair. Next press the glued weft against the glued hair firmly and hold in place until it has dried and holds without the need of your help.
Repeat this process in neat rows until you are finished, make sure you allow the glue to dry in between sections to avoid the outside hair catching. After weeks you will need to remove the weft from your hair using a special bond remover solution which we have linked below. Some people are able to remove the glue with Conditioner which is much kinder to the hair but with something as strong as glue we believe you need to use a stronger solution.
Still using Micro rings and the hair weft and without braids however it is slightly more fiddley and not as discreet as the rings lay on top of the weft rather than underneath. After you have sectioned the hair and measured and cut your weft pieces to size you can attach the wefts to the hair. To do this lay your wefts against the head and hold them firmly in place with some clips.
Once you are happy with the placement of your wefts you take a tiny 0. Next, thread a micro-ring to both these sections and clamp tightly in place. Repeat this procsess across the row of hair making sure both edges are secured with a ring and not hanging out.
Always match your rings to the root colour for the most discreet natural finish. There is no exact rule of placement with the Micro-Ring Weft however it usually includes rows which are placed from the middle of the ear upwards towards the crown area. Most fabrics are known as warp facing, especially denim with the blue warp thread dominating the top or right side of the fabric. In the garment industry, the warp direction is used as the length of the garment.
This is because its lengthwise direction improves the fabric drape and the fall of the garment. Different ways of weaving the weft thread create different piles or textures. A satin weave for example has each warp thread sitting over 16 weft threads. During the Industrial Revolution, the picking stick was modified into what became known as the flying shuttle. Weaving became faster and more industrialized. The weft is more versatile than the warp because it is woven or moved over the warp that is stationary.
Supplementary weft textures are created by a technique known as floating. This is when extra weft threads wrap over the warp without disturbing the basic weave. Wefts are threaded along the main passage of the weft, through the warp, and then woven to create the design. This method is carried out on a loom and known as brocading.
Extra weft threads can be woven between normal thread directions to create different patterns. Plain weave - This is the most common and simplest warp and weft weave.
It is considered durable and is often used for fashion and home decor products. The plain weave has the warp and weft threads crossing at right angles and going over one by one.
Examples of plain weave include cotton, linen, chiffon, organza and taffeta. Satin Weave - Satin weave refers to the weaving of the warp and weft threads rather than the name of the fabric itself. The satin weave has four or more weft threads going over a single warp thread. Satin often has a shiny top and a matt back and is used for lingerie, ties and blouses. Twill Weave - This weave has a pattern comprised of diagonal ribs.
Tape-in hair extensions : Tape hair extensions are an option in which real hair is pre-taped together and then taped on to either side of your natural locks.
While this option can be done in DIY style, typically you will want a professional to apply tape-ins for you, as they will need to be perfectly aligned with the roots of the natural hair, then applied with a heated tool so that the tape or glue heats up and attaches the strands together. Additionally, you would need to have them removed with glue remover and then reinstalled.
Pros: Tape-in extensions are a great option if you are ready to commit to a specific hairstyle. Cons: As with any heat tools and products, the process of applying and removing tape-in hair extensions can cause damage to the hair. After this, the hair extensions are then applied to the braided hair using a needle and thread.
Due to the process of application, weave hair is not recommended for people with naturally thin hair. The application is an extremely long process it can take up to four hours to complete , and can be fairly painful, as it is a tight and straining application method. Pros: Weave extensions are a great option if you are seeking a permanent solution for your hair extensions.
Because it is sewn into your hair, the weave will stay in place until you choose to take it out. Cons: Due to the intense and straining application process, these extensions can be painful and damaging to the natural hair. It is not recommended on people with thin hair for this reason. Fusion extensions: Fusion extensions are long-lasting on average they can be kept in up to 4 months with little damage to the natural hair. Fusion is often referred to as bond extensions.
To achieve a naturally fuller and more voluminous appearance to hair, these extensions are tipped with non-damaging Keratin bond. Then, hair is sectioned into pieces and the extension is bonded to the natural hair. Pros: Fusion extensions are a great option if you are ready to take the plunge and want a long-term result for fuller, more voluminous hair.
Our weaves and beaded wefts are made the same way with the same materials. We then take our wefts and sew our silicone-lined microbeads onto the weft, being careful not to break the seal. Weaves work best for moderate to extremely textured hair because that texture holds a braid well. Soft hair can be difficult to braid because the braid will loosen quicker, shortening the length of wear.
A weave is a more permanent style that can last months so they work best with hair that can properly hold a braid. A beaded weft works best with thick or textured hair, however, it can be worn with thin or soft hair as well.
The beaded weft install is rather quick and only lasts about months, so even if the weft slips due to soft or fine hair, it can be touched up easily. This is one of the biggest defining factors to consider when choosing which installation is best for you. A weave requires you to braid your hair up so that the weft may have a foundation to be sewn onto. Once a braided foundation has been created, a stylist will then sew the wefts to the braids, making sure not to puncture the wefts as that can lead to shedding.
For a beaded weft, the installation method is much simpler. A stylist will attach the weft by pulling your hair through the micro-beads and clamping it down so that it does not move or slip out of the hair. This method allows you to use the volume of your natural hair as well, so if the thickness is a concern for you, beaded wefts are a great solution. Not much is needed for a beaded weft installation. Typically a partial installation for both extensions only requires one weft.
However, a full head installation requires a bit more. For a full sew-in weave, you will need wefts, and potentially a closure or frontal piece to complete the look if you do not want to leave any hair out for a blended part. With all of these factors in mind, which type of weft do you believe is best for you?
