The DB9 is smaller than the Vanquish, but has more plush amenities in the cockpit: a CD changer in dash, pop up navigation LCD display, wood inlays, etc.

It also has an automatic transmission with a paddle shift. It is plenty fast, but a little more subdued than the Vanquish. For an auto it shifts very quickly, much faster and crisper than what is on the AMG Mercedes.

It is a very comfortable car and a pleasure to drive. The Vanquish is a dream. Being Italian I grew up always wanting a Ferrari. When I got my 04 spider I thought I'd keep that car forever.

The Ferrari is expendable. The tranny is an F1 type not auto. I prefer it over the F1 in my Ferrari. The Ferrari is very abrupt when changing gears, some changes it slams quicker than others. Frankly it makes me worry about something breaking. The Vanquish almost seams to ease it into gear.

There is an abundance of power, better delivered than the DB9, and the ride is like butter. I've only gone to , but the ride is very stable. The Vanquish feels a bit lighter in the hand at those speeds than my S 55 or SL 55 were, but not as "twitchy" as the spider.

And the sound of that V The interior is nice, the ride is plush and the strereo Watts is unbelievable. Ason Martins are wonderful cars, I highly recommend getting one if you can. The DB9 is a great car. After the test drive I was ready to trade in my SL 55 for one And the beauty is that there aren't too many of them on the road. My Vanquish is one of 46 or 48 to be imported to the US. Oh and by the way the dealers are nice people unlike the A-holes at Ferrari dealers.

They will pick up your car for service Looking for some help, i have a Vantage and was thinking of "upgrading" to a DB9, looking for some inspiration to help me decide and what better place than this, appreciate your help. I predict this will open up a floodgate.

However after owning 2 DB9's and driving a Vantage for a week, I will help out as much as possible: Both engines have a fantastic engine note, both chassis are sharp, both bodies have flowing, aggressive yet handsome lines.

It comes down to a handful of factors- Can you afford the extra expense? Playing devil's advocate with myself, the AMV8 is lighter and performs better around corners, and achieves better value for money than the V12, many prefer the shorter stance. So in conclusion, Are you influenced more by the engine or looks? Do you prefer a V12 or V8 engine? Do you want a sports car or a GT? Get the '9 with tha handling pack, it was sweet the one I drove.

AM V8 13 posts months. Leggera 29 posts months. Don't know where in the country you are but was at opening of new HWM showroom in Walton on Thames last night - they seemed to have a great selection of V8's and 9's to try including the DB9 Sportmodificato which looked stunning - I personnaly would go for the 9 - good luck in your choosing!

The DB9 has always been more GT than sports car, the V8 is much more of a drivers car to really enjoy on the twisty stuff
